CITIZENS
WITH SPECIAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES
The Coal Valley Police Department is compiling a list of persons with special needs and disabilities for use during times of disasters in our community. Persons with disabilities that would prevent them from being able to evacuate themselves, are on a life support system that can not be easily moved by them, persons who are bed ridden, blind persons with no assistance available to them, and any other person that feels that they would need assistance during any needed evacuation operation.
We would also use this list so that we may check on persons with special needs to check their welfare during emergency times.
We are requesting persons with special needs to contact the Coal Valley Police Department via our email address of: CoalValleyPolice@mchsi.com
or by coming into the Village Hall / Police Dept. and speaking to “Sandy”, the Police Dept. Administrative Assistant. Persons may also call by phone to the Coal Valley Police Dept., Mon-Thursday, 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. or Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (309-799-5416)
We will need the following information: Name, age, address, phone number, and type of disability or special need that the requesting person has.
The information will be kept confidential and only disseminated to rescue and police personnel during times of emergency.
Any member of our community that knows of someone with special needs to please call our Police Dept. and give us the name, address, phone number, and the type of disability that person has so that we may contact them to determine if they would like to be added to our emergency list.
Thank you,
Chief,

We have decided to create a “Space” so that our residents would have an alternative way to contact us with information. We know that sometimes you don’t feel comfortable talking to us direct so we thought we would make a way that you could contact us anonymously. Please don’t think that you are bothering us, it is part of our job to investigate suspicious matters. Please remember that even though you may think the information you have may not be important, that information may be just the right piece of the puzzle we need!! This is also a great tool for our younger residents who use "MySpace" and would like to pass on information or tips that maybe helpful, but would also like to remain anonymous, or for any questions that parents or children may have for us. Please go to http://myspace.com/CoalValleyPD
